Barcelona willing to sacrifice Raphinha as La Liga giants plot move for Liverpool star Luis Diaz

In virtually every window since Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds in the summer of 2022 for an initial £49 million ($63m), which has since risen to £55m ($70m) with add-ons, he has been linked with a transfer exit. He has scored 20 goals and bagged 25 assists in 87 games but that has not stopped reports suggesting the 27-year-old - who is out of contract in 2027 - could be heading for pastures new. Now, Mundo Deportivo claims while Barca value Raphinha a lot, they may sacrifice him for Diaz, if they can lure the Colombian away from Anfield.

Following Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool departure, a number of important players have been linked with a summer transfer move. However, the Reds are unlikely to part ways with their Colombian winger as they try to ensure a smooth transition into Arne Slot's new Liverpool era. Despite that, Barcelona have reportedly made buying a new left winger a top priority but Diaz's contract runs until 2027 so it will take a big fee to secure his services.

Since Diaz signed for Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial £37m ($47m), he has scored 24 goals and bagged 13 assists in 98 matches in all competitions.

Raphinha, who reportedly rejected the chance to move to a Saudi Pro League side earlier this year, could feature for his native Brazil in their friendly games against Mexico on Saturday and the United States next Wednesday.
