Revealed: How Barcelona plan to fund ambitious moves for Spain stars Nico Williams & Dani Olmo despite financial turmoil

Barcelona have reportedly figured out a plan to fund ambitious moves for Spain stars Nico Williams & Dani Olmo despite financial turmoil.

WHAT HAPPENED?
According to Sport, the Catalan club must generate funds through player sales to realise their ambition of signing both Williams and Olmo in the same window, with Raphinha's departure seeming the most probable. The Brazilian could lose his starting position if any of the two players join the club and has hence emerged as a prime candidate for transfer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Initially, Barcelona sought €90 million (£76m/$98m) for Raphinha, who attracted interest from Saudi Arabia. However, recent reports indicate his asking price has dropped to €50 million (£42.16m/$54.46m), a figure which is lower than the €65 million (£55m/$71m) that the Blaugrans paid to Leeds United in 2022.
DID YOU KNOW?
There have been reports which claim that Raphinha would consider a return to the Premier League, where he previously excelled with Leeds United in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. The winger wants regular first-team action which might not be possible to achieve if the transfers go through, prompting his interest in a move back to England.
