  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Having previously been admitted to hospital in May, few details were shared of Campbell's illness. Both Everton and Arsenal shared short statements wishing him the best, but it has now been confirmed by former Nottingham Forest teammate Mark Crossley that the former striker has passed away.

    Crossley released a statement on social media platform X, saying: "Life can be so cruel at times Absolutely devastated with news of my ex forest team mate Kevin Campbell’s passing, a true gentleman, a great player, a shining light of a dressing room, fun loving guy, thoughts are with all his family and friends. RIP mate 😢❤️🙏"

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Campbell was a Premier League icon, making 224 appearances with Arsenal as part of their title-winning squad in 1991. He went on to win more silverware with the Gunners and also made 160 appearances for Everton, scoring 50 times and becoming a fan favourite on Merseyside. He will be remembered for both his heroics on and off the pitch.
