The Guardian states that Bournemouth are closing in on Liverpool winger Ben Doak in a £25m ($34m) deal. The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, and after being involved with the Reds' first team squad over the summer, it looks like an Anfield exit beckons.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Liverpool have spent around £300m ($406.7m) in transfers this summer as they try to defend their Premier League title. But they may significantly add to that if they once again try to sign Newcastle United star Isak. The Reds had a £110m ($149m) offer plus add-ons for the 25-year-old rejected earlier this month but if they are able to sell some more players, such as Doak, that could give them the necessary funds to return with a bigger bid.
It may just be a matter of time before Doak, who scored three goals and added seven assists in 24 appearances on loan at Boro last season, swaps Liverpool for the Cherries, as the transfer window deadline ticks nearer. Ironically, Liverpool host Bournemouth in the Premier League season opener on Friday night, with Doak pulling out of the Reds squad.
