According to The Athletic, Al-Hilal have identified Nunez as their "priority target" as they continue their search for a new striker. The Saudi Arabian outfit have been linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak, but no deals have materialised, and they are now pushing hard to reach an agreement with the Reds for the Uruguayan forward.
Al-Hilal aren't the only team interested in bringing in Nunez. Serie A giants AC Milan are thought to have also identified the former Benfica star as a possible target as the Rossoneri look to equip returning manager Massimiliano Allegri with a more potent striker. Nunez himself managed only seven goals in all competitions for Liverpool last season and often found himself coming off the bench as opposed to starting matches.
WHAT NEXT?
Liverpool may well be keen to get Nunez off their books quickly so they can return their focus to bringing in Isak. The Reds have already spent lucratively this summer in signing Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Ekitike.
