  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Neymar has been linked with a potential departure from Al-Hilal in the summer, with the Saudi Pro League side reportedly unlikely to renew his contract for another year. The 32-year-old has remained quiet on what the future holds for him as he looks to regain full fitness and build up a proper rhythm ahead of a potential swansong with Brazil at the 2026 World Cup. Neymar has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer side Inter Miami to reunite with his former Barcelona team-mates Messi, Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, and fuelled transfer rumours last week.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Speaking to CNN Sport, Neymar admitted that it 'would be interesting to revive' the Messi, Suarez, Neymar (MSN) trio. However, another of the Brazilian's former team-mates Mascherano, who recently took over as Miami's head coach, has now described the Herons moving for the Al-Hilal star as "impossible".

  • WHAT MASCHERANO SAID

Speaking to the media, Mascherano said: "We cannot talk about Neymar because we have nothing. Obviously Neymar is a great player. Every coach in the world wants him but at the moment, but you know the MLS rules around the salary cap. So for us in this moment, it's impossible to try to think about him."
