Shockingly, the Kansas City Chiefs are in danger of falling to 2-4 when they host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football tonight. With elite offensive players on both sides, over 52.5 points (-110) is a distinct possibility.

Lions vs Chiefs Picks
Hail Mary on St. Brown - Amon-Ra St. Brown First TD Scorer (+800)
Through five games, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown leads the league with six receiving TDs. Jared Goff is going to look to find St. Brown early and often, as he has done all season.
The Lions are second in the league in average scoring margin, at +12.4, and have scored first in three of their five games this season. St. Brown has scored two more TDs this season than Lions’ RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who sits at +500 odds to score the first TD of the game.
With Detroit’s top wideout at +800 first TD scorer odds, there’s certainly value here. Don’t be surprised if St. Brown catches his seventh TD pass of the season and is the first scorer tonight.
- Lions vs Chiefs Prediction 1: Amon-Ra St. Brown First TD Scorer @ +800 with FanDuel
Thunderstruck - David Montgomery Over 41.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
The Lions’ tandem “Thunder and Lightning” running back duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery has been highly effective this season. Detroit is averaging 134.8 rushing yards per game, which ranks seventh in the NFL.
Montgomery got 18 carries last weekend against the Bengals for 65 yards. The seventh-year back is averaging over 12 carries per game and should certainly find some success against a Chiefs defense that is weak against the run.
Kansas City has allowed 4.8 yards per carry this season, which ranks 26th in the NFL. If Montgomery gets 10 carries tonight, he should be able to clear his O/U total of 41.5. So, take the over on his rushing yards.
- Lions vs Chiefs Prediction 2: David Montgomery Over 41.5 Rushing Yards @ -114 with FanDuel
All About Offense - Over 52.5 Points (-110)
This is a tough game to call. Sure, the Lions are the NFL’s premier offensive team, but there’s the Chiefs are playing at Arrowhead with their backs against the wall and seem to excel under pressure. One thing is clear: there’s plenty of talent on both offenses.
Jared Goff has been playing his way into the MVP conversation and leads the NFL with 12 touchdown passes. Meanwhile, we all know what Patrick Mahomes is capable of. Since losing 27-13 to the Packers in Week 1, the Lions have averaged over 40 points per game.
After a slow start to the season, the Chiefs have scored 65 points in their last two games. Sometimes offense beats defense, so go with over 52.5 points (-110) on SNF. The total has gone over in KC’s last two games and three of the Lions’ last four.
- Lions vs Chiefs Prediction 3: Over 52.5 Points @ -110 with FanDuel
