The LA Chargers (-3.5) head on the road to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. The winner of tonight’s game will improve to 2-0, and the Chargers will feel confident about their chances after taking down the Chiefs in Week 1.

Chargers vs Raiders Picks

Hail Mary on Herbert - Justin Herbert 300+ Passing Yards (+250)

Justin Herbert carved up the Chiefs secondary last week to the tune of 318 yards and three touchdowns. Herbert also had the lowest interception percentage in the league last season, at 0.6 percent.

Herbert looks poised to take a leap this season and he’s had plenty of success against the Raiders in the past. He’s thrown for 300 yards or more in five of his nine career games against the Raiders.

Meanwhile, the Raiders have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. They allowed a 53.9 percent completion rate on throws 10 yards downfield or more last season, which ranked 31st of 32 teams.

Herbert, with targets like Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkey, and Quentin Johnston could have a field day tonight. Take Herbert 300+ passing yards at excellent +250 odds.

  • Chargers vs Raiders Pick 1: Justin Herbert 300+ Passing Yards @ +250 with BetMGM

Bowers Bows Out - Brock Bowers Under 55.5 Receiving Yards (-118)

Raiders TE Brock Bowers had a record-breaking rookie season. He picked up 1,194 receiving yards, which is the most ever by a rookie tight end. Meanwhile, his 112 receptions were a rookie record.

He looked excellent through two-and-a-half quarters in the 20-13 win against the Patriots, as he caught a touchdown pass and led the Raiders with 103 receiving yards. However, he hobbled off with a knee injury and did not return to the game. He also didn’t return to practice until Saturday.

Bowers won’t be at 100 percent for this one, which undoubtedly hurts the Raiders. His over/under receiving yards in this one is 55.5. He averaged 54 yards in two games against the Chargers last season, and I don’t see him doing much better here while nursing an injury.

Take Bowers under 55.5 receiving yards at -118.

  • Chargers vs Raiders Pick 2: Brock Bowers Under 60.5 Receiving Yards @ -118 with BetMGM

Chargers to Cover - Chargers -3.5 (-105)

The LA Chargers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27-21 in Sao Paulo in Week 1, and they are legitimate threats to win the division. Last season, the Chargers won both of their meetings against the Raiders by 14-point and 12-point margins.

Under new head coach Peter Carroll, the Raiders looked much better during Week 1 and held the Patriots to 13 points. However, they still had one of the worst secondaries in the league last season, and Chargers QB Justin Herbert looked like a world beater during Week 1.

The sixth-year QB completed 73.5 percent of his passes for 318 yards and three TDs against the Chiefs. Raiders QB Geno Smith, who Carroll worked with in Seattle, played well during Week 1 as well, but Herbert and the Chargers can more effectively exploit Las Vegas’ biggest weakness.

With Smith’s biggest target, Bowers, also not at 100 percent, bet on the Chargers -3.5 (-105).

  • Chargers vs Raiders Pick 3: Chargers -3.5 @ -105 with BetMGM

Chargers vs Raiders Start Time

Brock Bowers led the Raiders (1-0) in receiving yards last season, but is dealing with a knee injury heading into their Monday Night Football game against the Chargers (1-0). While he’s expected to play, expect the Raiders’ passing game to be impacted.
