Team news & squads
Real Madrid team news
Defender Antonio Rudiger is ruled out with a muscle injury, joining Jude Bellingham, Ferland Mendy and Endrick on the treatment table, while Eduardo Camavinga's availability is also uncertain.
Given head coach Xabi Alonso's willingness to rotate the squad early in the season, the likes of Federico Valverde and Franco Mastantuono are strong candidates for a recall. Trent Alexander-Arnold may start ahead of Dani Carvajal at right-back.
Marseille team news
Marseille will be without goalkeeper Ruben Blanco and defender Pol Lirola, as they were not included in Roberto De Zerbi’s Champions League squad.
Amine Gouiri is a major doubt due to a head injury the forward sustained in last week's league win against Lorient. Defender CJ Egan-Riley will be back from suspension, but he may struggle to disrupt the centre-back partnership of Benjamin Pavard and Nayef Aguerd.
Goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli and forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would appear to be in line for starts after being benched last time out.
