The Philadelphia Eagles' wheeling and dealing continued this week, with GM Howie Roseman pulling the trigger on yet another move. After recently landing quarterback Sam Howell from Minnesota, wideout John Metchie III from Houston, and tackle Fred Johnson from Jacksonville, Philly has now added Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby to the mix.
It didn’t come cheap, though. Bigsby, who paced Jacksonville on the ground last season, joins the Eagles in more of a complementary role behind superstar Saquon Barkley. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the former Jaguar will also be tasked with giving a boost to Philly’s kick return unit.
In Jacksonville, Bigsby became the odd man out after Travis Etienne dazzled in Week 1 and rookie Bhayshul Tuten showed promise, prompting first-year GM James Gladstone to make a quick decision.
Now, Bigsby finds himself heading to the reigning Super Bowl champions, slotting in behind the reigning AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Barkley logged 18 carries for 60 yards in last week's victory over Dallas, and with his heavy workload from 2024 (a league-high 378 touches) still fresh in memory, the Eagles clearly want to pace their star for the long grind ahead.
