Team news & squads
CD Guadalajara team news
Chivas are battling several injury and suspension issues. Forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernández is out with a left hamstring injury sustained last week against León. Defenders Víctor Guzmán and Jesús Orozco Chiquete are suspended after accumulating five bookings each, ruling them out for this game.
Guillermo ‘Tiba’ Sepúlveda remains sidelined with a fractured cheekbone, and wing-back Carlos Cisneros is unavailable due to ongoing fitness problems. The roster is further stretched as Pavel Pérez and José Castillo are also ruled out, making defensive depth a concern. R. Ledezma is questionable with muscle cramps, and M. Tapias carries a lingering thigh problem.
Cruz Azul team news
Cruz Azul arrive in solid shape, but they do have some absentees. Forward Andrés Montaño continues his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury and will be out until late January 2026.
Toro Fernández is sidelined with a knee injury, expected to return later in the campaign. The majority of the core squad, including pivotal midfielders Lorenzo Faravelli and Carlos Rodríguez, are fit and available. Ignacio Rivero may also be a late doubt due to a recent rib injury.
