Liverpool’s draw with Southampton has seen them record a first goalless Premier League double since the 2008-09 campaign.
Having previously been held by the Saints at St Mary’s in November, the two sides cancelled each other out at Anfield on Sunday.
Milner's incredible penalty run ends
James Milner spurned a golden opportunity to break the stalemate, with his penalty saved by Fraser Forster.
Liverpool have had plenty of other opportunities to find the target against Claude Puel’s side this season, but have proved particularly wasteful in front of goal.
While Jurgen Klopp will be frustrated to have seen his side kept out, Southampton are reflecting on 180 minutes of top-flight football against the Reds without managing a single shot on target.
They managed just seven efforts over the course of two games, with none of those troubling Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet.
The Saints did, however, manage to beat Liverpool 1-0 home and away in the EFL Cup semi-finals before seeing their trophy dreams dashed by Manchester United at Wembley.
