Marotta to join Inter in January

Former Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta will take up a similar position with Inter in January, reports Calciomercato.

Marotta announced he was leaving Juve last month, and will officially close the book on his eight-year reign on Thursday.

Italian federation president Gabriele Gravina wanted to bring Marotta to the FIGC, but it appears Marotta will instead be joining Juve's Serie A rivals. 

Bolt unlikely to join Central Coast Mariners

Usain Bolt is unlikely to sign a professional deal with Central Coast Mariners, according to ESPN FC. 

The former track star has been trialing with the Australian club, looking to make an unlikely jump into professional football. 

But with his contract demands far exceeding what Mariners are willing to offer, it appears Bolt's pro career will have to begin elsewhere.  

De Laurentiis opens door to Cavani return

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has told PSG striker Edinson Cavani that he will always be welcome at the Stadio San Paolo.

Cavani starred for Napoli between 2010 and 2013, and will face his former club in the Champions League on Wednesday in Paris. 

“Cavani is always in my heart,” De Laurentiis told RMC Sport. “I brought him from Palermo to Naples. With us, he learned to be a real striker, he always reached 30 goals a season. He represented the club very well.

“Napoli will always keep the door open. The day that Cavani agrees to lower his salary, and he wants to live with his two children, he is welcome. As soon as he wants, he can come back.”

Barcelona scout young stars in Libertadores

Barcelona are sending scouts to watch Copa Libertadores semi-finals on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Mundo Deportivo. 

In the match between River Plate and Gremio, Barca will be watching River duo Gonzalo Montiel and Exequiel Palacios. 

Meanwhile in the tie between Boca Juniors and Palmeiras, Barca will monitor Boca's Augustin Almendra and Leonardo Balerdi, and Vitao of Palmeiras.

Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman is preparing a £4 billion (€4.5bn/$5.2bn) bid to buy Manchester United, reports the Mirror

Bin Salman is hoping to meet with United owners Joel and Avram Glazer over the next couple of weeks to discuss a deal. 

The Glazer family will need to tread carefully, however, with Bin Salman currently embroiled in a controversy over the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Tata Martino to leave Atlanta Utd

Gerardo Martino will leave Atlanta United at the end of the season after rejecting a new contract offer.

The Argentine's deal expires at the end of 2018 and although the club hoped to continue with him, he confirmed his decision to leave.

"This was not an easy decision to make," the ex-Barcelona boss said. "I have enjoyed my time with Atlanta United very much and am proud of what we have accomplished together in such a short time.

"The decision was not made for financial reasons, negotiations with the front office were transparent and fair. It was simply the right move for me and my family at this time."

Real Madrid plot move for Telles

Real Madrid are preparing to make an offer for Porto defender Alex Telles in January, Record reports.

The Spanish side are in need of a new left-back as they expect Marcelo to move to Italy and want to bring in a replacement whether he leaves in the next transfer window or not.

And 25-year-old Telles, who previously played for Inter and Galatasaray, has been tipped as the man to step into the role and they are ready to meet his €40 million (£35m/$46m) release clause.

Hamburg replace Titz with Wolf

The United boss is under pressure at Old Trafford following a disappointing start to the season that sees them languishing in 10th place in the Premier League table.

And El Pais claim that Mourinho has held talks with Madrid director Jose Angel Sanchez but that the situation is complicated by the Portuguese not being willing to resign from his current position and give up a hefty pay-out.
