Cristiano Ronaldo is refusing to break his silence amid speculation the Portuguese star is looking to leave Real Madrid this summer.
The 32-year-old Blancos star has been linked with moves to former club Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain following reports he is angry at the scrutiny of his tax affairs in Spain.
Ronaldo was accused of defrauding Spanish tax authorities out of €14.7million, claims which the player has denied.
Questioned after Portugal's Confederations Cup semi-final loss to Chile on Wednesday, Ronaldo refused to be drawn on the situation.
"I will not speak and I will not break my silence," Ronaldo is quoted by AS.
Ronaldo scored 25 La Liga goals last season and registered six assists as Zinedine Zidane led the capital side to the Spanish title.
The Portuguese also struck 12 times in the Champions League as Real became the first club in the competition to claim back-to-back trophies.
Getty ImagesRonaldo's happiness was not in question prior to the tax fraud accusations, with the former United winger signing a five-year extension on his Real contract in November 2016.
As such, Real president Florentino Perez believes his prized asset will stay put, but concedes Ronaldo is angry with the situation he finds himself in.
"Cristiano has a contract with Madrid," he told esRadio on Tuesday. "What we know is that he told a colleague that he is angry and it was published in A Bola. I haven't spoken with him.
"I do not give it the importance that is given [in the media]. The only thing that has to be done is to wait and talk after the Confederations Cup.
'Real Madrid can cope without Ronaldo'
"He is angry. He is a man of integrity and has fulfilled with his duties. There are many people who have wanted to hurt him with taxes and other topics and he feels it.
"We are delighted that he is in Madrid. If you believe that you will continue on this radio [show] I believe that Cristiano will also stay. I have spoken with [Ronaldo's agent Jorge] Mendes about him."
CRISTIANO RONALDO TO MAN UTD?
If Ronaldo, who has confirmed he had become the father of two boys during the Confederations Cup, were to leave Real, Manchester looks the likliest destination.
Jose Mourinho is in the market for a forward to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic ahead of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign, with United chiefs said to be willing to fork out a substantial fee.
Real, however, insist the Portugal star's signature will cost up to £350 million.
Getty ImagesShould Real be serious about signing Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, however, they may be open to selling Ronaldo or Gareth Bale to generate the funds for the Frenchman.
Mbappe scored 15 goals and claimed eight assists in the French top flight last season.
