  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    According to L’Equipe, Wrexham have enquired about the availability of Welsh midfielder Jordan James as they look to sign the Rennes star for a fee in the region of €5 million (£4.3m/$5.8m). The Red Dragons, however, will face competition from Serie A club Parma, who want the player on loan this season with an option to buy.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    James moved to Rennes last summer from Birmingham City. Before his transfer to the Ligue 1, the 21-year-old had attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, although he eventually headed to France. He appeared in 25 matches across all competitions last season, where he scored one goal.
