  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Zaha's season-long loan move was completed just before the end of the transfer window following a summer of speculation. Now, less than a month later, rumours are emerging that the Ivory Coast international and his family are not adapting well to life in France. According to the Turkish media outlet Haber Turk, Zaha's family have struggled to settle in Lyon after moving into a city apartment from their four-bedroom detached house with a swimming pool in Turkey.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Zaha's time in Turkey didn't exactly go according to plan either, with reports over the summer suggesting that the former Crystal Palace winger was desperate for a return to the Premier League after just one season away. The 31-year-old has struggled for consistent form and was hoping that the Lyon transfer would offer a welcome reset.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The Lyon winger started only 13 games for Galatasaray last season, falling down the pecking order as the season went on and ultimately causing clubs like Leicester City to start gauging interest over the summer. Despite the Foxes entering talks to secure a season-long loan move, ultimately negotiations fell through and Lyon were able to swoop in.

    WHAT NEXT FOR ZAHA?

It's still very early days for Zaha at Lyon, so it's understandable if he and his family haven't quite got into the swing of life in a new city. That being said, the sooner he can adapt the better. The Ivorian hasn't started a game in Ligue 1 yet, but if he can find the form he showed in the Premier League, he'll be a serious asset for his new club.
