But Luton Town almost staged an epic comeback as they found the back of the net twice in the 80th and 87th minute but the Blues eventually scraped through with all three points.

Silva was left frustrated with the team's late defensive mistakes that could have cost the team a crucial win. He even angrily pushed away a camera out of his way on the pitch after the full-time whistle.

It was a year to forget for Chelsea but back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace and Luton this week will help them end 2023 in the top half of the Premier League table.
