What is the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be the latest edition of the multi-continental knockout tournament featuring teams from each of the six major administrative bodies representing continental football around the globe.

Previously a small-scale event traditionally featuring just the winners of each season’s respective continental knockout tournament, such as the UEFA Champions League and the Copa Libertadores, it has been expanded for this new-look iteration.

Thirty-two teams will compete from the six confederations, featuring a mixture of tournament winners and teams qualified by aggregate performance over a four-year period. They will compete in eight groups of four, followed by a traditional knockout format from the round-of-16 onwards.
