    WHAT HAPPENED

    During a standard training session ahead of San Jose's upcoming Western Conference fixture against Portland Timbers, midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye stunned fans and teammates alike. The Canadian international delivered a perfect Olympico goal despite standing a few yards behind the corner flag. The 30-year-old’s effort curved beautifully from the corner flag and into the far side of the net. The moment was captured by the club's media team and subsequently shared on the Earthquakes' official social media accounts.

    Mark-Anthony Kaye joined San Jose in December 2024 following an extensive MLS journey through LAFC, Colorado Rapids, Toronto FC, and New England Revolution. The 30-year-old Toronto native has compiled 179 MLS appearances with 15 goals and 2 assists throughout his career. A 2019 MLS All-Star and Supporters' Shield winner with LAFC, Kaye also brings international experience with 42 caps for Canada.

    Following their 2-1 loss to Columbus Crew, the San Jose Earthquakes remain in 11th place on the Western Conference table with 10 points after as many league games. They remain in the hunt for a playoff place and host Portland Timber next in the MLS on May 3.
