After a goalless first half, the Eagles were finally rewarded for their perseverance in the 68th minute with Richards stooping low to head home an inch-perfect cross from Jordan Ayew. Glasner was thrilled to see his team surge forward and even ended up on the pitch while celebrating the opener.

Glasner was brought in at the helm until the end of the 2025-26 season after Roy Hodgson stepped down earlier this week. He is off to an emphatic start at Selhurst Park as Palace thumped Vincent Kompany's men by a 3-0 margin.

The floodgates opened after Richards scored the first as Ayew turned in at the far post just three minutes to get the insurance goal. The margin further increased when Jean-Philippe Mateta converted from the spot after sending James Trafford the wrong way.

Richards became the 12th American player to score in Europe's top five leagues this season, which is a new record.

Palace climbed to the 14th spot after the victory over the Clarets. They have a stern test in their next match as they travel to north London to take on Tottenham next Saturday.
