  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Hollywood actor appeared on BBC Radio 1 alongside his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman when Mullin made a cameo on the phone. Before it was announced that it was Mullin on the line, he was asked for an unpopular opinion and he hailed Reynolds fellow Wrexham co-chairman Rob McElhenney as the club's best owner.

  • WHAT REYNOLDS & JACKMAN SAID

Reynolds immediately bit back at his team's star player, telling the injured star to get back to working on his recovery after an operation.

"Oh, I know that voice, Mullin," he said. "Why aren't you doing calisthenics right now, buddy? Maybe stretch that recently fixed back out a little bit. I don't know. Maybe make good on an investment in a promise that we made."

Wolverine actor Jackman chimed in, declaring himself a "big fan" of the forward, adding: "I'd love to get your autograph one day."

Reynolds attempted to sour the budding friendship between his star player and good friend, saying: "His favourite celebrity, actually, that came by is Will Ferrel, so yeah."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mullin was full of praise for both Reynolds and McElhenney when asked for his opinion on the pair. After Reynolds warned him to be "careful" with his words, Mullin said: "Both wonderful as owners. More than that, just as people. Get to see them as people more than owners now. As we've seen in the documentary [Welcome to Wrexham], what they've done for the community has been phenomenal. Our success is obviously down to them. Their success with the club is also down to us, which is brilliant and long may it continue."

    WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Mullin will continue to work on his recovery from surgery and has sadly missed the team's trip to the United States, where his Wrexham co-stars will take on Bournemouth and Chelsea before travelling to Reynolds' hometown in Canada to face Vancouver Whitecaps. They will then return to Wales to begin their League One campaign.
