Harvey Elliott entered the penalty box after exchanging a quick one-two with Mohamed Salah and tried to keep a cross in front of the goal. As Martinez tried to grip the ball, he got off-balance and fumbled before accidentally pushing the ball into the net.

In the 12th minute, Youri Tielemans netted the equaliser from Ollie Watkins' assist. However, Cody Gakpo restored his team's lead 11 minutes later from Joe Gomez's pass.
