While the former Cardiff City custodian is training at Carrington, it is unlikely that the Premier League giants will hand him a contract offer. Lewis, who joined Aberdeen in 2016, saw his contract expire in December last year. Since then he has been using United's facilities.

Andre Onana has played between the sticks in the majority of United's matches this season. Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayındır, who joined the club in the summer, has appeared in only one game in the current campaign, which came against Newport County in the club's FA Cup fourth-round fixture.
