Lavia has endured an extremely difficult first season at Chelsea following his big-money summer move from Southampton. The midfielder arrived in a deal worth £53 million ($67m) but has only made one substitute appearance for his new club due to a succession of injuries. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/romeo-lavia-season-over-chelsea-midfielder-major-injury-setback-pile-misery-on-mauricio-pochettino/blt9fe493c41e119a60#csd6c7db7ccce52e17" target="_blank">He was ruled out for the season back in March</a> after suffering a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury sustained in December.

However, Lavia does appear to be making progress in his rehabilitation, with his latest update on social media showing the midfielder back out on the grass at Cobham.

Chelsea finish their season with games against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Bournemouth.
