The Dash moved their superstar to the Wave before the end of Friday's NWSL trade deadline in a sensational trade. The Mexico international put out an emotional statement late on Thursday night, penning that she had requested a transfer away from the Dash, and now, she's been granted her wish.

The Wave sent over $300,000 in transfer funds and $200,000 in allocation money for the attacker, along with an international roster spot in 2024 and 2025.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sanchez signed a record-breaking deal with the Dash in December, becoming the highest-paid player in the NWSL. Just months on, though, she's now moved on in stunning fashion.

The Wave weren't the only club interested in signing Sanchez but managed to win the race by getting a deal completed early on Friday afternoon.

With the Wave, she'll link up with USWNT stars Morgan, Jadeyn Shaw and Naomi Girma as the California-based club bolster their roster even more ahead of a championship push this year.
