  • Booed off by home supporters
  • Missed chance to go second
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Dragons suffered just their third home defeat of the season as they missed the chance to go second in League after a wasteful display on Saturday. Following the defeat, courtesy of Luke Norris' first-half goal, the home fans vented their displeasure - something co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will not be accustomed to since taking over in 2021.

    WHAT PHIL PARKINSON SAID

The Wrexham boss said after the loss: "I think if you look around the country and the results today, to have 25 attempts, I don't think there will be many teams that have had that but four on target is not enough for the quality we have got. We needed to work the goalkeeper more today. We have had some great moments and football is all about taking them and we were not able to do that so that is very frustrating for us."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wrexham still have the chance to secure back-to-back promotions as they sit third, in the final automatic promotion spot. However, fourth-placed MK Dons are only behind them on goal difference and this match was a great chance to leapfrog Stockport into second place.

    WHAT NEXT?

Parkinson's Wrexham are next in League Two action away to relegation-threatened Grimsby Town on Saturday, March 23, before taking on top of the table Mansfield Town on Friday, March 29, at the Racecourse.
