    WHAT HAPPENED?

The prolific Red Dragons frontman was among those to be handed a small part in Reynolds' 'Deadpool & Wolverine' production. Fellow striker Ollie Palmer talked his way into a bar scene, while Mullin was handed the responsibility of playing one of Deadpool's several alter-egos – alongside Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively.

  • THE GOSSIP

Mullin's face was not seen on screen, as he donned a 'Welshpool' suit, but his new role has been embraced by everybody in North Wales – with Wrexham changing the name of his player profile on the club’s official website. The costume worn by the 29-year-old has also gone on display at SToK Racecourse.

  • WHAT REYNOLDS SAID

Fans have been flocking to see the piece of Hollywood memorabilia, with Reynolds jesting that Mullin is now contractually obliged to fill the suit at all times. He has posted on social media: “The @wrexham_afc season is underway. So far so good!!!! If you visit the SToK Cae Ras Stadium, you can see WELSHPOOL on display in the Centenary Club. Huge thanks to Marvel for not only allowing a new WELSH Deadpool Corps member in the film, but for looking the other way when the suit disappeared from set and was accidentally mounted professionally then inexplicably shipped to The Racecourse Ground in Wrexham with no regard for wrules and wregulations. On our visit a couple weeks back, we accidentally unveiled WelshPool in his new home at the stadium. I was as surprised as anyone to see it there. Before folks ask, yes, @paulmullin12 has to live inside a harshly lit, airless glass box, but that’s only because he didn’t read his Deadpool & Wolverine contract very well. Particularly the parts I wrote in crayon.”

  • WHAT NEXT?

Mullin is hoping to help deliver another promotion push for Reynolds and his fellow co-owner Rob McElhenney this season. Phil Parkinson’s side have made an impressive start to life in League One, with 10 points taken from a four-game unbeaten run, and their talismanic No.10 is being eased back into the fold after undergoing minor spinal surgery at the start of the summer.
