Out-of-favour Ryan Gravenberch linked with shock Liverpool exit as unlikely European giants push for his signature

It is also suggested that the Istanbul side wanted to sign the Dutch midfielder last year but could not match Liverpool's offer.

Albeit he is still only 21, the Dutchman has not made the desired impact at Anfield with just 10 league starts to date. An ankle injury sustained in the Carabao Cup final came at a bad time, but he has fallen down the pecking order behind Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo, as well as mainstays Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Gravenberch's determination to settle in on Merseyside almost jeopardised his international career. In October, he turned down an U21 call-up, but he has since been forgiven by Oranje boss Ronald Koeman.

Both Gravenberch's current and potentially future club are locked in tight title races with six games to go in both the Turkish Super League and the Premier League. Gala are two points clear of arch-rivals Fenerbahce, while the Reds sit in third, two points off Man City and behind Arsenal on goal difference. The former Ajax and Bayern Munich man will be hoping to get the chance to help sign off the Jurgen Klopp era in style.
