'There were rumours about Man Utd' - Barcelona star Ronald Araujo responds to latest transfer talk amid links to Bayern Munich

Bayern have been linked with the Uruguayan defender but it was reported that he has no intention of leaving Barca in the January transfer window. The German giants could return for him at the end of the season, while United were said to be after him last summer. Araujo, however, suggested he is not thinking about a possible move.

The centre-back told reporters: "In every transfer window there are rumors of all kinds. It's normal. The only thing I can say is that I'm focused on the team and also on this club. I'm comfortable here and I always try to give everything for this shirt. They are always rumors that appear in all markets. There was talk in the summer about Manchester United, but I am focused on Barca. And I will always give one hundred percent."

Araujo, 24, is a vital part of Xavi's Barcelona team, having made 18 appearances in all competitions this season. Bayern are said to be willing to pay as much as €80 million (£69m/$88m) to bring him to Bavaria in the near future and the Catalan club's dire financial situation could force them to cash in on him.

Araujo is expected to see out the rest of the season with Barca at the very least. His side are in action on Thursday as they face Osasuna in the Supercopa de Espana semi-finals. The winners of the tie will go on to face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.
