  • WHAT HAPPENED?

PSG are officially uncatchable at he top of Ligue 1 after beating Angers 1-0 on Saturday at Parc des Princes. Desire Doue's goal proved decisive, as the club won the league for a fourth successive season. They have now lifted the trophy no fewer than 13 times.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

PSG's triumph is made all the more remarkable by the fact that only one team have won the title earlier in the season. That was also PSG, but in 2016, with eight games to spare. Remarkably, despite their repeated dominance in French football, they have never completed an unbeaten season. That could happen in 2024-25, however, and they would also become the first French team to do it. In Europe, only six teams have gone unbeaten throughout Europe's top five leagues: Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Arsenal, AC Milan, Perugia, and Preston North End.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

PSG could cap the season with a quadruple. They have already won the French Super Cup and have reached the Coupe de France final, where they will face Reims. In the Champions League, they play Aston Villa in the quarter-finals.

    WHAT NEXT?

PSG's first leg against Villa comes on Wednesday in France. They do not have a league game next weekend, but they must navigate fixtures against Le Havre, Nantes, Nice, Strasbourg, Montpellier, and Auxerre if they are to complete their unbeaten run.
