Pep Guardiola snares another ex-Liverpool coach! Reds analyst set to join Man City staff in backroom shake-up

Per The Athletic, City are set to appoint French as a set-piece coach and analyst. He formerly worked at Liverpool for 13 years, having been appointed in 2012, but is now set to move to the Etihad as Pep Guardiola reshapes his backroom staff.

City are also set to bring in Pep Lijnders as Guardiola's new assistant manager. The 42-year-old worked at Anfield for over nine years and was Jurgen Klopp's assistant during an era of unprecedented modern success at Anfield.

French is said to have bid goodbye to his colleagues at Liverpool's Premier League title party, having helped Arne Slot's side win their second Premier League title. Guardiola's side finished third, and he has responded by axing three of his assistants - Juanma Lillo, Carlos Vicens, and Inigo Dominguez - and looking for fresh blood behind the scenes.

City are currently on a break before preparing themselves for the Club World Cup. They will play Wydad AC in their first game at the tournament on June 18.
