Asisat Oshoala edging closer to NWSL move? Nigerian striker omitted from Barcelona squad due to 'personal reasons' as Lionesses star Lucy Bronze misses out due to 'technical decision'

The official reason provided by the Catalan club for the Nigerian missing out has been due to "personal reasons". It is believed that the absence stems from the fact that she is set for a way out of the club due to her limited minutes with the Liga F champions. It was reported earlier that the Catalan club were set to accept a fee of $163,000 from an unnamed NWSL side for the Nigerian attacker.

This season, Oshoala has made 14 appearances, however, she has only received three starts. She has nevertheless been clinical, netting eight goals in the process. If she moves to NWSL, she will follow Giraldez, who has agreed a pre-contract agreement with the Washington Spirit this summer.

Another notable absence from the Catalans' squad for their clash against Real Betis was Lionesses star Lucy Bronze. On the official announcement, Bronze was only said to be missing out due to "technical reasons". However, it is not yet clear what the situation is surrounding the defender.

As it stands at half-time in the match between Betis and the Catalans, Oshoala's side does not seem to missing her attacking prowess as they lead 4-0 already at half-time on their way to their 26th consecutive win this season.
