'Much better' - Ex-Real Madrid star Guti reveals whether current Blancos squad would have beaten the Galacticos

Guti has never been afraid to share his opinion on Madrid. The former Blancos midfielder chipped in with a new assertion of his own on Tuesday, claiming that the La Liga leaders' squad is better than his Galactico-filled unit of the early 2000s.

In an appearance on Spanish television, Guti compared the two sides: "It is a much better team than the Galacticos, much better team. What the squad is, it is a much better squad than the Galacticos."

Guti's famous Galactico side enjoyed a successful run from 2000-2007, winning La Liga three times and also capturing the 2001 Champions League. Ancelotti's Madrid currently have an eight-point lead atop the table with eight games remaining.

Los Blancos have a break from La Liga action this week. Their next game is a high-profile European clash with reigning Champions League holders Manchester City in the last eight of the competition.
