  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Salah's situation at Liverpool is dire as the Reds icon is set to see his contract run out in the summer of 2025, and the Premier League side are yet to offer an extension to the Egyptian. As such, a potential departure has become a likely option for Liverpool's third-highest scorer in their history, who scored his 13th goal of the season in the 2-0 win over Manchester City.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

As per French publication L'Equipe, Salah has opened the door to a move to Paris next summer after actively engaging in talks with the reigning French champions. Les Parisiens are desperate to fill the void of a superstar in their squad left by Kylian Mbappe, who departed the club in the summer as he joined Real Madrid on a free transfer of his own.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Following their unsuccessful attempts to sign Manchester United's Jadon Sancho and Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer, Paris Saint-Germain are still on the search for a winger. The Ligue 1 side have also shown interest in Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao. Salah has been a target for PSG in the past, and next summer is likely their best chance to get the prolific Liverpool winger.

    WHAT NEXT FOR SALAH?

If Liverpool do not extend Salah's contract before the start of the new year, which seems unlikely, the Egyptian will enter the last six months of their contract and as such, he will be open to hold pre-contract talks with another club to prepare for a summer move.
