MLS unveils 'Sunday Night Soccer' series ahead of the 2025 season

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    MLS announced an expansion to its current Apple TV programming, unveiling "Sunday Night Soccer" as part of significant changes to its schedule for the 2025 season.

    The league said that the primetime matchup, held every Sunday, will be accompanied by special pre- and post-match coverage, and feature the network's leading broadcasters - in both English and Spanish.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Apple and MLS are set to start the third year of their decade-long agreement for broadcast rights of America's top tier soccer league, worth $2.5 billion. This season, Leagues Cup and some MLS NEXT Pro matches will also be available on the platform.

    MLS commissioner Don Garber expressed his excitement about the Sunday matches, saying in a statement: "Our partnership with Apple has redefined how fans experience Major League Soccer, bringing the league to more people around the world than ever before. With the addition of 'Sunday Night Soccer' a new studio, and the debut of Onside: Major League Soccer on Apple TV+, 2025 will be our best season yet. We couldn’t be more excited about the future of our partnership with Apple."
