  • Anderlecht interested in Eriksen
  • Dane yet to feature this season
  • Belgian transfer window still open
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

United had a busy window as six players joined and multiple departed over the course of the summer. The activity is not over just yet, though, as Christian Eriksen, seemingly not in Erik ten Hag's plans, may be allowed to leave with Anderlecht a likely destination. The Belgian side's chief executive, Jesper Fredberg, is eager to sign the ex-Tottenham and Ajax star, Het Belang van Limburg reports, having long been interested in him. They may, though, wait until the last days of the Belgian transfer window before making an approach.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In United's opening two games, the 32-year-old was left on the bench and watched his side's indifferent start to their Premier League campaign. Despite the UK's transfer window closing on Friday evening, clubs in the Belgian, Portuguese, Turkish and Saudi Arabian leagues have the luxury of an extended window, which closes on September 6.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Since Eriksen arrived to United from Brentford on a free transfer, only Bruno Fernandes has recorded more assists in the Premier League for the Red Devils.

    WHAT NEXT?

As Manuel Ugarte's deal from Paris Saint-Germain managed to get sealed before the deadline, it looks as if Eriksen will drop even further down the pecking order. If he is keen for first-team football, Anderlecht might be an ideal destination.
