United agreed a season-long loan agreement with Getafe and GOAL understands that the contract does not contain a break clause, meaning it is unlikely he will make a permanent move in January. Getafe are delighted with his progress and are said to be willing to smash their transfer record by paying €46m (£40m/$51m) to make the loan move permanent. However, it is expected that Greenwood will remain at Getafe until the end of the season, when a final decision on his future will be made.
DID YOU KNOW?
Getafe secured a 20 percent sell-on clause on any future sale of Greenwood in their loan agreement, meaning they would stand to make a profit if he were to leave for a big fee. Greenwood has scored five goals in 15 appearances in all competitions so far this season, helping Getafe climb up to eighth in La Liga and challenge for European qualification.

Greenwood will look to continue his excellent season when Getafe host Madrid rivals Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Tuesday, their first game back after the winter break in Spain. Getafe will then look ahead to a Copa del Rey round of 32 clash against Espanyol four days later.
