Getty Images SportTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Betis, the club where Antony played on loan last season, remains the striker's preferred destination. The Spanish side are still interested, but are still far from the asking price set by the English club. GOAL has heard that the player felt good at the Spanish club and wants to stay there. The financial aspect is the main obstacle, as United are asking for a fee that is considered too high for Betis.
AFPWHAT'S NEXT FOR ANTONY
United are still waiting for offers to sign Antony permanently, but may consider another loan deal given the difficulty in receiving concrete offers matching their valuation of the 25-year-old. Despite a good season with Betis, Ruben Amorim does not see him as part of his plans for the 2025-26 season. Ideally, Antony would love to return to Estadio Benito Villamarin, but he might be forced to consider other offers given he has no future at Old Trafford.
