This is not how Manchester United hoped to start the season. Despite a memorable last campaign and a very busy transfer window, Erik ten Hag's side look like they are back to square one. The Red Devils have lost three of their opening five matches for the first time in the Premier League and are already nine points behind Manchester City.
The club has been afflicted by a litany of off-field problems and injury issues, but ultimately a lot of their most reliable players are simply not performing and Ten Hag seems at a loss as to how to get his team firing again.
