Man Utd's new left-back? Premier League giants interested in signing Girona star Miguel Gutierrez - but Real Madrid clause could cause problems

The Spanish left-back, who graduated from Real Madrid's academy, left the club in 2022 to join Girona. In the current season, Gutierrez has become a mainstay in the club's starting lineup having appeared in 25 La Liga games where he scored once and provided four assists.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Premier League giants Manchester United have been tracking the player's performance for a long time now and could tempted to sign him in the summer.

The publication further claimed that the player has a €8m (£6m) buy-back option in his contract which Los Blancos are planning to exercise next season, although they are very close to signing Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies.

Other than the Red Devils, several other English clubs are also monitoring the situation of the Girona defender and could go after him when the transfer window opens. The 22-year-old's current contract with the White and Reds runs until 2027.

For now, the defender remains fully focused on his club who firmly remain in La Liga title race. They will be next seen in action on Sunday against Mallorca in a league encounter.
