  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Red Devils do not expect any convincing offers to come in for Rashford in January, the Daily Mail reports, but his sale has become a priority for the club. United must shed players to avoid breaking profit and sustainability rules and, as a homegrown player, Rashford's sale would count as 100 percent profit on their balance sheet.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

At one point in his United career, the Old Trafford club would have laughed off any offer below £100m ($127m), but his disappointing performances over the last two seasons have seen his value plummet. If a decent offer does not materialise, United may have to explore selling either Alejandro Garnacho or Kobbie Mainoo - outcomes they would rather avoid.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

As well as the financial boost his departure would provide, United are reportedly eager to see the back of the 27-year-old because of concerns about his lifestyle and focus. Rashford has scored four goals in 15 Premier League appearances in 2024-25 and started their most recent matches against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest on the bench.

Rashford may get the nod to start when Ruben Amorim's team come up against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League this week.
