Liverpool youngster Ben Doak subject of bids from Ipswich and Crystal Palace amid bright spell on loan at Middlesbrough but Reds tell them to double offer

Doak has been making waves in the Championship, catching the eye of top-tier clubs. Ipswich Town recently submitted a bid worth £16 million ($20m) for Doak, but it was swiftly rejected by Liverpool. This follows Crystal Palace’s £15m ($19m) offer earlier in the day, which was also declined. Liverpool have made it clear they value the teenager closer to £30m ($38m), underscoring his importance to the club's long-term plans, according to The Times.

Despite the mounting interest, Liverpool’s preference is for Doak to remain at Middlesbrough for the rest of the 2024-25 season. The Anfield club are encouraged by the progress he has made under Michael Carrick’s management and believes that completing the campaign at the Riverside Stadium will benefit his development.

Doak began his career in Scottish football, developing his skills at Celtic before making the move to Liverpool in 2022. His early promise earned him opportunities at Anfield, where he made 10 first-team appearances. However, his 2023-24 season was curtailed due to a knee injury that required surgery, sidelining him for most of the campaign.

Doak has played a pivotal role in Middlesbrough’s rise to playoff contention, contributing two goals and five assists in 20 Championship appearances. Liverpool reportedly regard Doak as the best young talent in the Championship and see his potential as integral to their future ambitions. He will be back in action on Saturday against Cardiff in their next league fixture.
