Lionel Messi wins first-ever MLS Player of the Month award after 10 goal-contributions in April for Inter Miami

The Argentine had a sensational month, leading the Herons to an undefeated month across league play. With three wins and one draw, Messi accumulated six goals and four assists in four matches, putting on a brilliant performance week in and week out.

The Argentine has taken MLS by storm since returning from injury in early April after missing four games for Inter Miami. He's fully put himself in contention for the MLS Golden Boot Race and is an early frontrunner for the 2024 MLS MVP.

MLS Player of the Month is voted upon by a panel of select national media members in a process conducted by MLS Communications.

Miami have won back-to-back Player of the Month awards, with Suarez claiming it in February/March.
