  • Wrexham squad celebrating in Vegas
  • Second-place finish secured automatic promotion
  • Team also partied there last year
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

It's the second summer in a row that the Welsh Dragons have partied in Vegas after achieving a landmark promotion. Photos shared by winger Ryan Barnett show that as well as hitting the clubs and casinos, they've also been relaxing by the pool and even met superstar Dutch DJ Tiesto out in Sin City.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The celebrations are well deserved. The club's promotion to League One was secured on April 13, after an emphatic 6-0 win over doomed Forest Green Rovers, and they went on to amass a total of 88 points, finishing 2nd with Stockport named champions. Wrexham will join clubs such as Birmingham, Huddersfield, Blackpool, and Charlton in League One next season.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney recently took to Instagram to comment on the wild promotion celebrations, writing: “Trying to keep up with the lads is fun but not when Sunday morning comes.” His wife Kaitlin Olson, meanwhile, is a big fan of the new promotion tradition and hopes for another trip to Vegas next summer.

    WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Right now, Paul Mullin and co. are in party mode, and understandably so. But after their celebrations come to an end, they'll be heading on a pre-season tour of the U.S. and Canada, just like they did last summer. Friendlies against Bournemouth, Chelsea and Vancouver Whitecaps are set to take place across the West Coast during July, in what has been dubbed the "Wrex Coast Tour".
