Kylian Mbappe returns to Real Madrid training after losing 5kg due to illness

Mbabppe has returned to full Real Madrid team training after his spell in hospital with gastroenteritis. The former Paris Saint-Germain star missed Los Blancos' first two matches at the Club World Cup due to the stomach infection and reportedly lost 5kg before linking up with his team-mates again.

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update, revealing the 26-year-old has returned. All eyes will be on Madrid's next game against Salzburg in the early hours of Friday morning and whether Mbappe is fit enough to feature in Xabi Alonso's squad.

Mbappe was last in action for France during the most recent international break earlier this month, scoring two goals to help France claim third place in the Nations League.

In Mbappe's absence, Madrid have taken four points from their two group games, drawing with Al-Hilal before beating Pachuca. They need a win against Salzburg to secure top spot in Group H, though a draw could be enough if Al-Hilal fail to beat Pachuca.
