    THE BIGGER PICTURE

It was thought Mbappe would be handed a lengthy suspension, dealing a significant blow to the Spanish giants in their bid to retain the league title, but the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Disciplinary Committee has issued a one-match suspension. That means he will be available for their Copa del Rey final clash with Barcelona on April 26.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Mbappe avoided a longer suspension because referee Cesar Soto Grado wrote in his report that the forward was attempting to win the ball when he made the challenge.
