  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Walker left English champions Manchester City in the January transfer window to join AC Milan on a short-term loan deal. Since moving to Italy, the full-back consistently performed for the Serie A giants which also earned him a call-up to the national team during the March international break.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Praising Walker's contribution to his new club, AC Milan legend Joe Jordan claimed that the youngsters at the club are gaining a 'wealth of knowledge' from the veteran defender. Jordan had earlier worked with Walker at Tottenham Hotspur when the 73-year-old used to assist then-manager Harry Redknapp.

  • WHAT JOE JORDAN SAID

Speaking SunSport, Jordan said: "I know Kyle Walker because I coached him at Tottenham when Harry Redknapp was the manager, and we sold him to Manchester City. He may be in his 30s now, but he is a fantastic athlete — some players have pace, some have stamina, but Kyle’s blessed with both. Kyle’s an experienced operator, so, as much as he will learn from the Italians, he’ll be passing on a wealth of knowledge to Milan’s younger players too."

    WHAT NEXT FOR KYLE WALKER?

Calciomercatoweb journalist Daniele Longo has reported that the Rossoneri have the option to sign Walker for €5 million (£4.17/$5.40m), a clause they are eager to trigger. The defender, too, is enjoying life in Italy and is keen to continue his career at Milan rather than return to the Premier League.
