'Never seen anything like it' - Kevin De Bruyne dubbed the 'GOAT' by Man City team-mate Jack Grealish after match-winning display against Newcastle on Premier League return

The England international hailed his club team-mate De Bruyne as the 'GOAT' (Greatest of all time) after the Manchester City talisman contributed with a goal and an assist against Newcastle United upon returning to the Premier League. The Belgian scored a superb equalising goal in the 74th minute before setting up Oscar Bobb with a perfect pass for his 91st-minute winner.

Grealish took to Instagram where he reposted a Kevin De Bruyne photo from the club's official account with the caption: "Honestly... Never seen anything like it in my life. The goat."

The 32-year-old returned to action in the league for the first time since August 2023, when he limped off the pitch with a hamstring injury against Burnley in City's season opener. De Bruyne started on the bench at Newcastle and was only introduced into the game in the 69th minute when he replaced Bernardo Silva.

Pep Guardiola's side will be next seen in action after the brief winter break on January 26, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup fourth round. It remains to be seen whether De Bruyne will get his first start of the season in the crucial fourth-round tie.
