Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a then-record £100 million ($123m), becoming the most expensive English player in history. However, he has struggled to replicate the form that made him one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League. Despite this, Grealish has won it all under Guardiola and has often appeared as an influential figure in the City dressing room during their dominance.

With City facing an uphill battle in the title race and Grealish potentially seeking a fresh start, the remaining few weeks of the transfer window will be crucial. A move to a new league could reignite the winger's career and provide him with a new challenge, also allowing the champions to free up wages and space in their squad for new arrivals, with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush set to arrive at the Etihad in the coming days.
