<p>The Manchester City star was called over to the stand by a member of the crowd as he exited the field after coming on as a second-half substitute in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Manchester United. The England international is said to have been "slapped in the face," <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14580101/Jack-Grealish-slapped-face-Man-United-fan-Police-open-investigation.html" target="_blank"><em>The Daily Mail</em></a> reports, though he was not seriously injured.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Police have since confirmed that a man has been arrested and charged with assault, with an appearance in front of the Manchester magistrates scheduled for July. </p>

<p>"Alfie Holt, 20, of Haven Drive, Droylsden, has been charged with assault. He will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court. This charge relates to an incident which took place at Old Trafford Football Club yesterday," a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.</p>

<p>Grealish featured for the last 15 minutes of the Premier League showdown at the weekend and will hope to be back in the starting XI when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday.</p>
